During their lunch break, several veterans took up Ms. Trenkle’s generous offer and visited the Texas Heritage Museum. At the Vietnam War exhibit, some older veterans stopped in their tracks and were noticeably silent. "In hindsight, if anyone deserves a 'Most Valuable Player' award it's Dale Chaney." Said Jim Hollingsworth after the event. "Dale gave lots of hours doing research, making phonecalls, and reconning. He negotiated the best possible deals for lodging, lunches, and the Veterans Dinner. Dale is smart and anticipates all needs. He even kept his US Chess membership current in case we needed a house player — which we did. Chris Wood and I absolutely could not have accomplished all this without him."
