I've been working professionally as a software developer since 1983. I primarily program for Microsoft Windows in C/C++/C#. I have held positions as high as Director of Software Development in my career. I also play around with IoT/Maker software/hardware (Arduino, Netduino, pcDuino, Raspberry Pi, etc).
Have been playing Chess since I was 12. One of my High School English teachers (in Pennsylvania) was Alex Dunne (the USCF Correspondence editor). He also ran my high school Chess Club, which I was a member of.
I played some USCF rated correspondence chess back in the 80s. I also won my College Tournament in 1984 (it wasn’t officially rated though). Just recently started playing in OTB tournaments to get an official USCF rating (and so I could play in Brazos II).
Have been a member of USCF and the Texas Chess Association (TCA) on and off since the early 80s. I have also been Editor of Texas Knights, the official publication TCA, since July of 2014.
